It is located just south of the Glenmore Reservoir and is bounded by 19 Street SW to the east, Southland Drive SW to the south, 14 Street SW to the west, and Palliser Drive SW to the north. The area now known as Pump Hill was once a part of the vast ranch lands of the Cochrane Ranche Company. In the early 1900s, the land was purchased by the City of Calgary and was used for agricultural purposes. In the 1960s, the land was subdivided for residential development, and Pump Hill was born. Pump Hill is a primarily residential neighbourhood, with a mix of single-family homes and some townhouses. The neighbourhood is known for its large lots, mature trees, and quiet streets.
